Friends were honored to welcome Peter Murchison to Poughkeepsie Friends Meeting at Oakwood Friends School for the Nine Partners Quarterly Meeting (which includes New Paltz, Oswego-Bulls Head Meetings) on Sunday, February 4th. Peter gave a heartfelt and impactful presentation on Preventing Gun Violence.
This meeting was open to the public, Quarterly Meeting and students. Over 39 guests attended the event in person and via Zoom. Several acknowledged having been threatened by gun violence. After Meeting for Worship at 10 a.m. we joined members, attendees, and students for brunch in Oakwood Dining Hall from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. For more information about this event and Peter’s work, click here.
