More about Joyce Ajlouny

Joyce Ajlouny, General Secretary of AFSC, is a Quaker leader who is committed to helping bring peace and justice to communities locally and globally. A Palestinian American, Joyce started her career in international development in Palestine, focusing on minority and refugee rights, gender equality, economic development, and humanitarian support. She served as the country director for Palestine and Israel with Oxfam-Great Britain and chaired the Association of International Development Agencies. Prior to joining AFSC, Joyce served as the director of the Ramallah Friends School, a leading K-12 Quaker school in Palestine, for 13 years, where she led a diverse staff to transform the school academically, physically and financially.

 

Summer Sessions takes place in person at Oakwood Friends School, Poughkeepsie, NY, and online. The plenary will be a hybrid event. To attend the plenary or any other hybrid part of Summer Sessions — including the Café Night talent show, meetings for discernment, and bible study — you must register for Summer Sessions. If you attend in person, you can also enjoy intergenerational games, campfires, a scavenger hunt, the contra dance, and a field trip to the Walkway Across the Hudson.
