For more than 300 years the “Quakers”
(The Religious Society of Friends) have
All are welcome to join us in worship. Quakers value simplicity. Our beliefs and testimonies are rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus. We gather to worship in silence and with the expectation that God will be present to lead us directly. Our meetings have no pastor, clergy or hierarchy. There is no written creed or pre-programmed worship. A spoken message or prayer or ministry may arise out of the silence from any worshiper who waits expectantly with an open heart. Quakers believe in equality knowing there is that of God in everyone and that God’s love is infinite. We believe that peace, not violence and war, is God’s way and plan for humanity. We believe that each person has a role to play in the world around us and in the preservation of the natural world.
Many come to Quakerism as seekers. Some are searching for a place to worship God that is not dependent on formula, preaching or repetitious ritual. Some are simply seeking a supportive community and place to be with their Creator.
